COVID Announcement - Please read!

Hello Minor Hockey Parents,   

Thank you for your support in keeping the hockey program running well over the past several weeks. The plans for further play are still being finalized. That being said we want to send out a reminder regarding our RETURN TO PLAY COVID PROTOCOL as there have been reports of this not being followed.

To review parental jobs of each position, please see the bottom of this email or the DMH website for review as they will be posted there for quick reference. 

 

1. As a reminder, our return to sport plan states that players MUST arrive completely dressed minus their helmets and skates. This applies to ALL age groups. This minimizes movement, time and contamination of the dressing rooms. If your child arrives not in their gear they are to return to their car to get dressed.

 

2. There MUST be a parent at the sign in position in the Lobby 30 min prior to practice and they must remain there for the entire practice to ensure that contact tracing is completed. If you are assigned and cannot be there 30 min prior you must find a replacement. If your team arrives and there is no parent on duty then your team MAY NOT enter the building and can wait outside. 

 

Please keep in mind social distancing rules apply when coming into the building and avoid crowding in the sign in area. Please form a socially distanced line outside if needed. If you are in the sign in area you may assist your team in the documentation by asking the COVID screener and writing things down for your team and parents. 

 

3. There MUST be a parent at the Lobby Doors 30 min prior to practice. If you arrive in the Lobby and there is no parent then you are to wait on the socially distanced marks in the Lobby. If the parent is taking kids to the room please wait patiently for them to return in the lobby and they will guide you. The lobby parent will ensure the rooms are open, the hallways are clear and that the rooms are being divided evenly to keep the room limits below capacity of 16 people/room (coaches and parents included)

 

4. Please ensure that sanitizing of the room is occurring. If you are unsure of how to do it please ask the arena staff for instructions. If you have any concerns about the equipment please advise the arena staff as well as Mike Norris. 

 

5. Please remember that there are capacity numbers for the building. Players are to only have 1 person accompany them. Siblings are only to be present if absolutely needed and are to remain seated in the stands at all times with their parents.

Door - PLEASE ARRIVE 30/40 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TIME. Ensure that each person entering the arena sanitizes, signs in, provides a contact number and indicates that they have been symptom free.  We will have two containers of pens: clean/dirty. Please sanitize the pens after your time is complete. Players are to arrive dressed in their gear. 

 

Lobby - PLEASE ARRIVE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TIME. The dressing room keys will either be on the table outside the sliding door (in the new lobby) or given to you by the arena manager. Have the players line up, socially distanced, until 15 minutes before start time in the lobby. At that time 16 people (players and coaches included) can be in a room at a time. Walk the group down to the dressing room, keeping track of how many people have entered. If people are entering/exiting the ice or other dressing rooms, please hold your line and do not continue until the hallway is clear. Once the dressing room is full, direct players to the next change room. Please continue to return to the lobby, directing players and keeping track of how many people are in each room. Please stay in this position until the team enters the ice. 

 

Sanitize - TO BE COMPLETED AS SOON AS THE DRESSING ROOM IS EMPTY BY AN INDIVIDUAL 16 YEARS OR OLDER. The arena has provided goggles and gloves. Everything you need is on the table (in the new lobby) beside the sliding door. Please remember that ALL TOUCH POINTS (handles, buttons, etc) need to be sanitized. Arena staff are available to show you how to use the machine, if you need further direction.
